Description: Stylish women wore matching sets of clothing called suits from the 1880s until the 1910s. Spokane's Mabel Cotter Williamson had this walking suit custom-made by Stellies in New York City in 1907. However, women's ready-made clothing was also growing in popularity as the corseted waistline gave way to looser styles that accommodated mass-production techniques.
