Physical Description: | Dress, sleeveless, is made of blue/green chiffon and is embellished with lace panels and beadwork. Lace panels are pointed downward from shoulders and center neckline and upwards from hemline. Panels are edged with beads. At the length of front and center are elaborate vertically oriented beaded designs. |
Description: | The discovery of Tutankhamen's tomb in 1924 unleashed an Egyptian craze - the same year that Spokane's 18-year old Helen Huneke traveled to Europe with her aunt aboard the ship, America. Helen purchased this dress in Paris, and its Egyptian-style designs suggest that it played a role in her adventure. |
