Biography/History: Born in in Havre MT to Marie Louise LaBatt Boyer and Joseph Nicholas La Croix, Wenuna Pluma LaCroix was the oldest of six children. Her mother died when Wenuna was about 15. She worked for a well-to-do Havre family as a teen, and around age 20, after high school graduation and some college, Wenuna moved to Spokane. She first worked as a waitress, then as bookkeeper-stenographer for the Jensen-Byrd Company and others. She lived at Parkview Girl’s Club in Browne’s Addition, attended Kinman Business School, and met Leroy Bloomingdale. The couple parted ways soon after daughter Diana was born, 9 Dec 1943. Mother and daughter moved from one apartment to another until Wenuna married Chevrolet Master Mechanic, Lloyd Bolch (1906-1986) in 1950. They soon moved to 4023 E 32nd Ave. and, around 1958, bought a small house and lot nearby at 4011 E 32nd Ave. They renovated the new house themselves and moved in around 1961-62 when Diana (born 9 Dec 1943) was in high school. Wenuna worked 24-25 years as cashier at Spokane School District 81’s administrative office, while enjoying an array of hobbies, from photography and handcrafts, to designing house plans and landscapes.
