Physical Description: Twelve blocks appliquéd with floral designs in various colors make up this quilt. The blocks each measure 17 1/2" and are separated by green sashing. The border is scalloped and edged in green fabric. It is hand quilted at six to nine stitches to the inch. The backing is off white.
Description: More than thirty quilters from Washington, Oregon and Idaho participated in an outdoor quilting bee during Spokane's Expo '74. With the help of visitors, they completed this quilt and five others during the six-month run of this 1974 fair. Traditional floral appliqué designs, green sashing, and a scalloped edge all give this colorful quilt the feeling of a flower garden.
