| Biography/History: | Elvera Beth Reehl, known as Beth, was born 24 Dec 1931 in Perryton TX to Fred R. and Alta G. Reehl. The family later moved to Spokane, and Beth graduated from North Central High School in June 1950. That same year, on 7 September, she married Spokane firefighter, John Robert Riley. John was also from Spokane, born 24 May 1930 to John L and Bertha Riley. The couple had two sons, born in 1954 and 1956. For 19 years Beth worked as a bookkeeper for a general contractor, while in her free time enjoying all handwork, especially quilt making, dressmaking, and counted thread needlework. She holds memberships in the Spokane Falls Needlework Guild and the Spokane Chapter, Washington State Quilters. |
