| Biography/History: | Margaret Ford was born in 1941 in Oakland, CA. She received her BA from Occidental College in Los Angeles, CA in 1963, her BFA in Ceramics and Textiles from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1972, and her MFA in Ceramics from the University of Washington in Seattle in 1974. Her work is gently humorous, or refreshingly serious, combining fantasy and her broad knowledge of history and literature, as well as a great sense of her personal, inner being; and has been greatly influenced by her interest in Zen philosophy and in Hinduism and in spiritualism. She works with earthenware clay and creates sculpture by rolling thin sheets of clay and forming it into delicate shapes. |
