Description: After college Harriet Johnston participated extensively in the social life defined by her father Eric Johnston's role as head of the United States Chamber of Commerce and as Motion Picture Association president. She wore this custom-made dress to a 1950 Los Angeles dinner given in honor of Prime Minister Nehru of India.
