Description: | Marie Webster, an influential quilt designer of the early twentieth century, created this "Sunflower" appliqué quilt pattern, first published in the January 1912 issue of "Ladies' Home Journal." Spokane's Kate McCrea chose Webster's design, possibly in kit form, to create this quilt. The sunflower was a favorite motif of the Arts and Crafts movement. |
