Physical Description: Scottish style tam-o-shanter made from red wool fabric with a silk or silk-like red and black plaid hatband which forms a bow at front center of hat held in place with a red, translucent decorative medallion. Red feathers extend from the bow and medallion.
Description: Four sisters, born in Scotland and Ontario, Canada, arrived in the Inland Northwest by the early 1880s and performed in Scottish costume throughout the Northwest and British Columbia as the "Dudley Buck Quartette, the "Singing Scott Sisters," and possibly the "Royal Highlander Quartette." The young women were especially proud to sing at the 1896 St. Louis World's Fair.
