Physical Description: | Bowl, sterling silver, simple Revere-style form, visible planishing marks on exterior surface, initials "HC" for Helen Campbell on interior, handmade. |
Description: | Sterling silver vases and bowls made popular gifts among the well-to-do. Boston silversmith Frederick J.R. Gyllenberg created this Arts & Crafts style bowl, monogrammed "HC". Perhaps it was a gift from cousin Hazel Lease Dawson who was married in the Campbell's home in 1913 before moving to Boston, or a souvenir of Grace and Helen's trips to Boston between 1913 and 1917 to visit Hazel. |
