Description: | Joe Feddersen is an artist of national stature whose work draws on a variety of techniques, from printmaking to basket weaving to glassblowing. Bold abstract symbols of contemporary life - tire tracks, power lines and chain-link fencing - appear in his work. This design sensibility comes from his strong Northern Plateau Indian heritage. Just as his ancestors used their art to interpret their immediate surroundings, Feddersen draws inspiration from the industrialized landscape of the Inland Northwest. His 2005 work, "Rugged Trail 2," blends traditional Indian basketry with contemporary glassmaking techniques. |
