Description: Kay O'Rourke's paintings are Surrealist-like, but more accurately, can be described as non-traditional realism. Metaphysics, a branch of philosophy that deals with the nature of existence and of truth and knowledge, is integral to her work. O'Rourke's paintings are filled with personal, literary, mythological, and art historical references.
