Description: | This overshot coverlet is associated with Sweet William Case (1820-1898), who was born in Columbia County, New York. He later moved to St. Anthony (now part of Minneapolis), where he and his father opened the first store in 1851. The coverlet was donated by his granddaughter, Ethel Case Hoyt, who lived in Spokane for many years. Overshot coverlets like this one were woven by both home weavers and professionals. |
