Physical Description: | Long men's plaid tweed wool coat with grey zip out removable lining. |
Description: | Born in Bulgaria, Veliku Ivanov followed his brother Frank to Spokane around 1910, and began using the name King Evanoff. He was trained as a tailor in Bulgaria, but worked to build Idaho's Taft Railroad Tunnel before opening a tailor shop in the town of Malden. Business did not thrive there, and Evanoff moved to Spokane. He made uniforms for the Union Pacific Railroad and clothing for customers of all types until closing his shop during the Depression. He continued to make clothing, like this coat, for himself and his family. |
