Description: | Impressionism reached the height of its European popularity in the 1870s and early 1880s influencing artists across Europe. Compare the color and quality of light and dark of this painting to French landscapes. Willem van der Nat was born in Leiden and took his art training there. He painted and exhibited in Holland all of his life. His works are represented in the Rijksmuseum and are frequently found in Britain and the United States. |
