Title: | Kaleidoscope Quilt |
Object Type: | Quilt |
Participants: | |
Physical Description: | Twenty pieced blocks in a star design, separated by rust-colored sashing, make up this quilt's design. The stars are made of solid, print, and plaid fabrics. There is no border. It is backed with a blue green plaid wool fabric. |
Description: | Stripes, plaids, and polka dots give this quilt a sense of movement. With its rust-colored sashing, it must have looked inviting on a cold winter night. The fabrics appear to be dress, suit, and necktie fabrics from the early twentieth century. Ruth Kulp Anderson continued a family quilting tradition; quilts made by her mother and aunt are also preserved in the museum collection. |
