Description: | Fashion successes for the 1950s included Bill Blass blue jeans and poodle skirts made of felt and decorated with sequins and poodle appliqués. It was also an era of cocktail parties and Cotillion balls that introduced young women to society. For leisurewear Moms copied the bright cotton day dresses of their college-age, saddle-shoed daughters. Children's clothing echoed the serious styles of their parents and the gender specific activities of young girls and boys. |
