Physical Description: | Silver baby cup engraved "Helen Campbell 1892." Bottom third of cup is scalloped or ribbed. Above ribs is a double engraved line around the circumference of the cup. Just below the rim of the cup is a decorative border in a Greek key design. The handle of the cup is embellished with spiral designs. |
Description: | The 1859 Comstock Lode discovery provided a large silver supply, and sterling silver spoons, forks and baby cups made popular gifts among those who could afford them. This cup was a gift to Helen Campbell around the time of her birth on May 14, 1892. |
