Description: Like many young well-to-do girls of her time, Helen Campbell (1892-1967) enjoyed collecting dolls representing different countries, like this Swiss or Bavarian doll. Popular fascination with world exploration grew through the 19th century. Wealthy families took Grand Tours of Europe, Asia and the Middle East, including the Campbell's visits to Egypt and Europe in 1904 and 1909-1910.
