Description: Can you detect signs of 15 million-year-old plants and trees among these fossils? In the Miocene geologic period, these plants were alive at the edge of an ancient lake. Elmer Alexander gathered these fossilized remains near Spokane in the 1920s and '30s; the fossils from this deposit are called the Latah formation.
