A 1912 graduate of what is now the Parsons School of Design, she was known for her patterns for embroidery and series quilts, which were syndicated in numerous American and Canadian newspapers. Her designs for each "friendly scene or faithful animal" featured in this "Farm Life" quilt were first published in the Omaha, Nebraska "World Herald" in 1930.
