Physical Description: | Twenty-five pieced blocks and five pieced half-blocks make up this quilt. The blocks are surrounded by green sashing. The fabrics include prints, solids, and plaids. Each block is the same pattern, which is constructed on a 4 x 4 grid. Each block contains two large triangles and six small triangles cut from the same fabric, with ten small triangles and two squares cut from another fabric. |
Description: | Harriet Lackey moved to Spokane County in 1877. Unfortunately, she was widowed the next year while expecting her first child. Harriet made this quilt during that difficult time using fabric provided by her sister, Jenny Jones, who operated a local dressmaking shop. |
