| Physical Description: | Cardboard candy box of "Davenport's Kiddy Kandy." Box is brown cardboard printed on the exterior in four colors: white, blue, black and red. Front: Blue background with white graphic detailing. Child (J. F. Geary) pictured on scooter with box of Kiddy Kandy in left corner in rectangular graphic. "Jimmy" printed on bottom border of graphic. On right side of box is name of candy. "Davenport's" is printed inside a banner graphic and the Davenport coat of arms is located just above this printed in white, black and red. "Kiddy Kandy SPOKANE U.S.A." is printed below this motif set in black. Just to the right of the candy name is the head and right paw of a dog looking toward "Jimmy". The rest of the dog's body would have been pictured on the side flap. Bottom: no design, printed blue Top: Side view of Davenport Hotel, inscriptions: "HOME OF THE DAVENPORT CANDY COMPANY, SPOKANE, U.S.A DAVENPORT HOTEL" The words "Davenport Hotel" are contained inside a banner graphic along the bottom of the hotel building motif. Back: Two children are pictured on the right side. They are looking at a sign. The child on the right holds a Kiddy Kandy box behind his back. The child on the left, a younger child, holds a rag doll by the arm. There are flowers in the middle ground under and extending behind the sign where there is a beehive on the four-legged stand. Bees are flying forth, up and behind the sign. The sign reads: "Davenport's Kiddy Kandy is sweetened with pure Washington Honey. I know. I way it made. Jimmy, Davenport's Kandy Kiddy." Along the bottom of the box another inscription reads: "Content - 20 Pieces or more." |
