Physical Description: Hammered copper fireplace in 5 pieces consisting of a hood and four side decoration pieces.
Description: Following its opening in 1890, Davenport's Restaurant was a popular Spokane gathering place. Architect Kirtland Cutter gave the building an updated Mission Revival exterior in 1904 and designed ornate interiors, such as the Italianate Hall of Doges, the Orange Bower men's bar, and Louis Davenport's own Art Nouveau apartment. The Davenport Hotel opened next door in 1914, incorporating restaurant spaces, including the Hall of Doges, into its operation. During hotel restoration in 2001, the Hall of Doges was preserved and significant architectural elements of the apartment were donated to this museum.
