Physical Description: | Subject matter is four physicians with stethoscopes in surgical garb who appear to be in consultation with each other. Composition is predominantly yellows and greens with red, brown, and white and appears to have been quickly executed, like a sketch. |
Description: | Inez Hill Bailey was an active and prolific mid-century Spokane area artist who is represented in several Washington state museum collections. She also was a career nurse; until 1961 she served as head surgical nurse at Edgecliff Hospital for tuberculosis patients. The subject matter of this painting shows the influence of her experiences as a nurse on her artwork. |
