Physical Description: Green velvet drapery set, original to Campbell House. The set accommodates the south bank of windows, conservatory (west) window and the north bank of windows along the veranda. These drapes are made of green velvet with rust colored suede embellishments along bottom edges and internal side edges. They are lined with a light cotton fabric.
Description: In 1898 the Campbells contracted Cleveland interior decorator William Otis to specify furnishings for their new Spokane home. Otis selected high-quality wallpapers, floor coverings, window treatments, and major furnishings typical of those found in the homes of wealthy late 19th century families. The Library featured a gothic revival style including green silk velour draperies embroidered with heraldic medallions of red suede and brass wire. The original draperies and some of their brass-wrapped wooden drapery rods are still in place.
