Description: Charles A. Libby and his son Charles Jr. ran a photography studio that documented virtually every aspect of Spokane life in the first half of the 20th century. The senior Libby began his photography career in his sister Addie's studio before opening his own workspace in 1901. His son joined the firm in the early 1920s and developed a new specialty: aerial photography. After 1928, the Libbys used this "Cirkut" Camera Outfit to record regional projects, from Grand Coulee Dam construction to new homes, and people, from famed aviator Charles Lindbergh to studio portraits.
