The Spokesman-Review, July 2, 1966, Charles Augustus Libby obit: Born 19 Sep, 1879, Olympia, WA. Died 1 Jul, 1966, Spokane. Buried Riverside Cemetery. Came to Spokane in the fall of 1898; Joined his sister Addie Libby in the Libby Art Studio until 1901 when he opened his own studio. Married Gretchen Schlussler, 12 July, 1905 in Spokane; she died 1957. Charles retired from photography in 1962; his son (and only child) Charles A. Jr. joined the photography business in 1924 and continues to operate the business, Charles A. Libby and Son. |
