Physical Description: | The background of this quilt top is made of green triangles. It contains 14 full blocks and two half-blocks. Each block contains two fabrics: muslin and a cotton print or solid. Each block has a name in the center, with the exception of the half-block at the top that is inscribed: "Feb. 27, 1931". |
Description: | Fifteen students at Sunset School, located west of Spokane, pieced this quilt top for their teacher, Miss Johnson, in February, 1931. They left us their names and a wonderful selection of early 1930s fabrics. Ethel Johnson, whose married name was Ethel Beckwith, kept this piece for the rest of her life. |
