| Biography/History: | In the 1930s, Greeks from far corners of the region built a community hall in Spokane and began an annual festival that continues today. During World War II they created floats and campaigned to raise funds for their homeland. Then in 1947-48, they worked with a local Japanese American architect to design and construct the elegant Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox church. |
