Physical Description: Solid-colored rectangles of crimson, lavender, green, yellow, pink, and aqua were pieced together in a "Log Cabin" design to made this quilt. The centers of each bock are crimson. The border is lavender and is quilted in a feather design. A multi-colored braid has been applied to the edge.
Description: The bright colors, feather border, and edge treatment of this quilt demand attention. It was likely meant for show, rather than to sleep under. Its provenance is unknown, but Log Cabin quilts made of silk were popular during the late nineteenth century.
