Description: Mary Bower joined the Whitman College music faculty in 1937, at a time when fashion combined prints, texture, and unique streamlining. Not only did she teach over 350 students during her 30 year tenure, she also played a leadership role in organizing a local concert association and community orchestra, and participated in women's organizations like the American Association of University Women.
