Physical Description: This quilt is made of thirty-six pieced blocks made from a variety of prints, including one with horseshoes. The background fabric is white. There is no border.
Description: The horseshoe fabric found in this quilt is a "conversation print," especially popular for children's clothing during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This quilt also contains fabrics with fine black lines on a white ground, known as "mourning prints," popular about the same time.
