Physical Description: Carmel colored wool coat for young girl, with evidence of closures at center front. Coat is high-waisted, yoked, and with a wide collar. Collar and sleeves have brown cord detailing applied in a pattern of three lines. Three buttons appear to be missing, with only one button hole just above the waistline. Skirt of coat cut fully and gathered at the yoke. Weave of cloth is loose with beige, brown and yellow colored yarns.
Description: Janet (Taylor) Russell's mother Helen recycled fabric from one of her own coats to make this one for her young daughter in 1920s Montana.
