| Biography/History: | Spokane resident Vera Peasley was born and raised on a farm in Iowa, attending Simpson College in Indianola and graduating with a degree in education. She came to Spokane in 1914 to pursue teaching, however her brief career ended when married (Wickersham) in 1915. The couple purchased a home on First Avenue in Spokane and raised 2 daughters. The Wickershams purchased the first (enclosed) sedan in Spokane and Vera enjoyed learning how to drive it. The couple also built one of the first houses on Liberty Lake. |
