| Biography/History: | Jamie Walker was born in 1958 in Houston, Texas, and currently lives and works in Seattle, Washington. He received his BA in History and his BFA in Ceramics at the University of Washington in 1981, and he received his MFA in Ceramics at the Rhode Island School of Design in 1983. He began teaching at the University of Washington Art Department in 1989 and is now the Assistant Director of the Art Department at the University of Washington. Jamie Walker is known for his mastery of Ceramics which often depict the contradiction between the ephemeral nature of their subject matter and the concrete, timelessness of sculptural objects. |
