Biography/History: | Ken Spiering grew up on a homestead in Wyoming in the 1950's. In the 70's he received a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Idaho. In subsequent years, he has rendered scenes and subjects in oils, watercolors, and enamels; provided illustrations for businesses; carved a variety of wood projects; and sculpted, among other things, life-size bronze figures and enamel on copper murals. Most of his work is commissioned, either publicly or privately , and involves large pieces displayed in public forums. Perhaps his best-loved work is "Childhood Express," the giant Radio Flyer wagon play structure in Riverfront Park in Spokane. |
