Biography/History: Fred L. Simmonds, born in Wisconsin, first married Emma Landeryou (born in Canada). Simmons was widowed by 1915, when he married Minnie Fox; he may have divorced and married a 3rd time. During his active business years through 1937, he listed several downtown shop locations on Sprague, Riverside and in the August Paulsen, Standard Stock Exchange, and Radio Central buildings. Simmonds was active in the community, in particular with numerous Masonic organizations, leading the Shrine band for 20 years. He died in 1938.
