| Biography/History: | Florence Reed first studied art at the Colorado State Teachers' College in Greeley, Colorado, where she was studying Education. After graduating from Greeley she began teaching in small semi-rural schools in Colorado, then married during WWI and followed her husband to Kansas where his career as a school administrator began. She lived in Wichita, Kansas until 1937, when she moved to Spokane with her Husband. In Wichita, she was a member of the Wichita Art Association which held painting classes taught by professional artists. She was a serious painter until she moved to Spokane and lost the art community that she had been part of. |
