| Biography/History: | Ree Brown was born in Utah and raised on a ranch. He graduated from Utah State University in 1950, moving to Seattle in 1967. Trained as an accountant, Brown once ran an antique shop with partner, Jay Steensma. Self taught, he began by copying well-known artists and evolved from there to painting his own compositions. His subjects are usually animals and people rendered in a primitive style. |
