| Biography/History: | William T. McDermitt was a landscape painter and printmaker. He was born in Percy, IL on March 2, 1884. Having come to southern California at an early age, McDermitt graduated from Pomona High School and Pomona College. He then continued his studies in NYC at the Pratt Institute and ASL. During the 1920s he taught at Washington State College in Pullman. After 20 years of teaching, he returned to California and roamed the deserts of the west. |
