| Biography/History: | Lawrence B. Smith founded his silver company in 1887 in Boston, Massachusetts, which at the time was an important silver manufacturing center. The company made sterling and plated silver items until c. 1958. LBS employed a variety of plating techniques including the Sheffield process and electro-plated nickel silver. The latter is marked EPNS. |
