| Biography/History: | Virginia Harger was born in Spokane on August 5, 1912 to Leon and Lota Harger. She attended Irving Grade School, Lewis and Clark High School and was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church. Virginia earned a B.S. degree at Washington State College (University) in Dietetics and Food Service Management, and her masters degree at Kansas State University. During World War II, Virginia joined the Army and worked as a hospital dietitian. During her career, she worked and taught at Ohio State University, Stanford University and Oregon State University, retiring in 1978. Virgina Frances Harger returned to Spokane in 2000, living to be 102 |
