Biography/History: | Virginia Carter is a third generation Spokanite and has been making pottery and clay sculpture for twenty years. Both her vessels and sculpture are unlike any other. Her painterly technique, humor, and references to news and events and popular culture define a style particular to her. Virginia Carter studied at Spokane Falls Community College and has exhibited throughout the United States. Recent exhibitions include Cheney Cowles Museum's 15th Annual Works from the Heart Contemporary Art Exhibition and Auction and the 1998 Spokane Sampler: An Inland Northwest Juried Art Exhibition; International Orton Cone Show, Baldwin City, Kansas; and The Teapot Show, Cudahy, Wisconsin. |
