Biography/History: | Jody Bone is a Seattle area glass artist who lives and works in Seattle and Whidbey Island. She earned her BFA at the University of Idaho and also studied at the University of Washington, Pilchuck Glass School, and Pratt Fine Arts Center. While at the University of Washington, she did an independent study with Robert Sperry and has also taken workshops with Paul Soldner, Ken Ferguson, Peter Voulkos, Rudy Autio, and Patty Warashina. She is a studio artist at Potter Northwest in Seattle, and has also taught workshops on kilncasting at The Glass Furnace in Istanbul, Turkey. Jody Bone has an extensive background in both ceramics and glass. She creates cast glass pieces, many of primitive head or mask shapes. They are often set in bases of wood, stone, or metal to compliment the glass. |
