Physical Description: | Long, narrow saddle bag of Turkistan origin, the front has same characteristics as Persian rug and is of red and blues. The back is made of cotton or linen canvas and the bag has a wool strap and tassels. |
Description: | The Campbell family may have purchased this saddle bag of Turkistan origin during their Middle Eastern tour in 1904. Later, Helen Campbell and her cousin Hazel Lease were photographed in front of the Campbell's carriage house around 1910 wearing costumes, including a similar saddle bag, likely purchased on that tour. |
