Physical Description: World War II era American Red Cross pin granted to Betty Black "in recognition of meritorious personal service performed in behalf of the nation, her armed forces, and suffering humanity in the Second World War." (see 3960.3) Pin is enamel, red cross in a field of white and surrounded by blue border in the shape of a shield; "SERVICE" is spelled out within the blue border. Shield is surrounded by a golden eagle with out-stretched wings. American Red Cross pin, enamel, "EMERGENCY FIRST AID." US Army Government Employee pin, round, with photo of "Betty Black, 01580, Red Cross."
