Description: | This 1890s Wolff American bicycle has unique features for women: string skirt guard, hygienic "breathable" leather seat, and pierced metal chain guard. The safety-bike's chain drive and medium-sized wheels eased the physical strain of riding. Many automotive technologies originated with the bicycle, whose advocates lobbied for good roads and sped American adoption of the automobile. |
