Description: Wallace Hagin used this Bellow Tripod Portrait Camera to capture hundreds of images, primarily of the region's African American community - its weddings, Masonic Lodge events, family gatherings, reunions, and a multitude of church activities like contests, plays and picnics. He opened a business as "Wally's Portrait Studio," at 1524 East North Avenue and later in his home. Hagin also worked in local department store studios. The Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture now houses his impressive collection of family and professional photographs. Source: Williamson, Jerrelene (Spokane Northwest Black Pioneers).
