The microphone is rectangular in shape and has a plate attached to the top and the sides with the letters "KHQ". On the front of the speaking piece there is a 1"x2" brass plate with patent information on it. |
Description: | Microphone improvements changed the way Americans heard recorded music and radio broadcasts. After RCA introduced this Model 44A Velocity Microphone in 1931, it became one of the most widely used microphones in vocal recording, including use at Spokane's KHQ radio station. By the end of the decade, national network radio was a major medium for mass communication, and most households featured a living room console that brought in world news and home entertainment. |
